Survival Gear List: The Essential Tools You Need to Survive Out There

For individuals who find it a hobby to go out camping, hiking, or trekking in far away and isolated places where the traditional conveniences of living aren’t present, it is always a necessity to bring with them some survival gear. So before you go out there, you must know what your survival kit must contain.

1 – Knife

When you’re camping and you don’t bring with you a knife as part of your outdoor survival gear, then you’re like lacking one hand. A knife isn’t just for kitchen use; it in fact is an essential part of any survival gear. The reason why you can’t go out there without it is because it can do so many things that other outdoor survival gear and tools cannot. This includes cutting rope, opening cans, building a shelter, preparing food, and cutting cloth and bandages.

2 – Cordage

There’s no denying that rope is an essential part of any type of DIY survival gear. As a matter of fact, it’s almost impossible to survive out there in the wilderness if you don’t have a rope with you. Rope is used for things like building shelter, climbing, holding things together, lashing poles, fishing, making animal traps, and for attachment purposes.

3 – Hydration System

This one honestly does not need any explanation. If you don’t know it yet, a human being is capable of surviving for days even without food, provided he has access to drinking water. With this in mind, it is therefore imperative that you always bring with you some kind of container that can be used for storing water. You need to understand that not all water you get access to outdoors is clean.

4 – Signaling Equipment

When you’re camping and you suddenly found yourself in a survival situation, one of the first things you need to be focusing on is establishing contact with people. As the days go by without contact, you decrease your chances of being rescued. So to increase the chance of making it out alive, you need to bring with you a signaling device whenever you go camping or hiking. A mirror, whistle, and anything that can produce light will be of great help. Any signaling equipment must be considered as an essential tactical survival gear that you can’t afford to forget bringing.

In the end, one article wouldn’t be enough to list all the other essential things you should be bringing if you really want to survive out there, regardless of how challenging and dire the survival scenario is.
